Course Objective 3

Articulate the role of the educational developer.

An educational developer supports faculty and instructors in improving their teaching practices, fostering student engagement, and enhancing learning outcomes. They provide training, resources, and guidance on effective pedagogy, curriculum design, and the integration of technology. Their role involves promoting reflective teaching, supporting inclusive education, and helping educators implement innovative and evidence-based strategies to create engaging and equitable learning environments. Through collaboration, they contribute to the overall improvement of teaching quality and student success at the institutional level.

How is this done?

Week three we were asked to create our own workshop on any topic of choice. We were to deliver the workshop as if it were for some faculty. This gives you an idea of what / how my workshop would look and be presented if a workshop was needed. Again, this is only a small example of a workshop. Workshops can be very different depending on what message you’re trying to get through.
